colgo l'occasione per incollare cio' che ho scritto di lui in occasinoe dell'ultima serata a Praga, dove vivo. Sono contenta di non essere sola a pensarla così!!!
"Post "5 Years Prague Nightmare with OPHIDIAN"... great pleasure to be there!
1 - honest, was heading somewhere else but then decided to listen to Ophidian's new album and... I LIKED IT(quite rare I like a new HC release from the new decade actually..). You can hear some influences from the current times (have to..if you do not want be stuck in the past) but without betraying his personal style.
2 - Actually, he exceeded my expectations even there on stage, I was afraid he would have adapted his set to the Czech taste, in fact he was bringing his sound quite faithfully giving something fresh to the Cz ears..
3 - and I gladly saw they did like him.. we were just a few tens..if you compare to NL/IT parties we were just a little drop into the sea but the ppl who were there really liked what they were hearing, CZ HC scene is very little as it is mainly a Tekno country, it is a more underground scene but it leads to feelings of intimacy you don't get in a big party. And I like you can see how the artist looks like and be just few steps away from him.
4- seriously, it was a shock to me to see that a person who is not just a DJ/Producer but is a Composer, a MUSICIAN (with the capital letter) that with his unique tracks and style has featured my teen years and my hc generation and is already gone a long way , is a little shy guy of more or less my age... I was astonished.
5 - good music and musicians have the power to go straight to the strings of your heart. this is what I loved of my hardcore in my years, and Friday after long time...I felt the same...when you have goosebumps, you're overwhelmt by emotions you almost burst with tears, clean up your mind from your thougts and nourish your soul with feelings... this is what I always liked of this music and Friday I was feeling it again.
In that dreamy stage, I even got to a kinda epiphany, thinking that if such a young guy found his own way in what he enjoys most, if I keep up with my passions I can do it as well.
If you are talented, you can do the difference, even across years and trends.. evolving, growing ,but still being yourself and doing what you enjoy the most. Keep up with your work, as long as it is what you feel, cause you are doing it well."
