Per chi sa l'inglese,leggete qui:

When the voting started on the 2nd of December, we immeaditely noticed that this year's MOH Radio Live Top 100 would be different from previous ones. During this analysis, we will give some examples of the developments in hardcore during the year 2010. And what was going on behind the scenes? Which things have happened, that only DJ The Menace and I were allowed to see to monitor if things were all going well? We will tell you some juicy details. Do not be scared of the long text, I think it's worth it to discuss this year's MOH Radio Live Top 100 in a deeper, less superficial way. Please note, I will give you a lot of facts on the voting process, but also some personal opinions about the outcome of the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010.

THE STRUGGLE FOR THE TITLE

A global view on the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010 tells me that 2010 has been the year of the Masters of Hardcore artists. But there were some interesting things going on besides the enormous amount of Masters of Hardcore-related tracks in this years chart. For instance: during the first four days of voting, there was a #1 that we really did not expect: Ophidian - Abandon. Although almost all of Ophidian's colleagues were wild about this track, we really didn't know what the audience would think of it. Well, it was quite obvious: both artists and the audience considered this track to be an instant Ophidian classic.

But as the amount of votes got bigger and bigger, Ophidian had to compromise his top spot, because of an 'attack' by Angerfist, Outblast, Korsakoff and Evil Activities. These artists are without any doubt today's biggest and most popular acts in hardcore. It became clear after one week that these four artists would battle against each other for the number one spot. Of course, some of their tracks were destined to be in the top 10, but we noticed two other things that was also decisive for the outcome of this year's result...

SOCIAL MEDIA

When we started the Top 100 back in 2007, there was no such thing as a huge influence of Facebook, Twitter, Badoo, MySpace or what so ever for the MOH Radio Live Top 100. Three years later, an artist that want his music to be heard by more people than his friends, family and relatives, has to be aware of the effect that social media can have on their careers.

For instance: did you know that Korsakoff has almost 100.000 fans on her official Facebook page? That Angerfist's Facebook page doubled up like 20 times compared to 2009, and the Hardcore Radio Facebook page also got big like tomatoes in a glass house? When Korsakoff put one ( I repeat: ONE) message on her Facebook-page, hundreds and hundreds of her dedicated fans voted for her tracks instantly. Within thirty minutes since her message on Facebook, all Korsakoff tracks from the MOH Radio Live Top 100 database got into the top 50!!!

But the most impressive effect of Facebook was caused by Outblast and Angerfist. They put two separate messages on their Facebook pages last Thursday to vote for "The Voice of Mayhem", and that was the decisive moment of the year. Within 90 minutes, the votes for "The Voice of Mayhem" doubled up and made it impossible for the other competitors to get to the top spot. But Facebook and Twitter's influence are caused by another big development in hardcore during this year...

GLOBALIZATION OF HARDCORE

If I was allowed to point out just one development in the hardcore scene, it has to be the expansion of hardcore all over the world. To prove this statement, you just have to check out the agenda's of the big shots in hardcore. Angerfist's passport contains more international stamps than Barack Obama's, an enormous number of Hardcore Radio's fans are French hardcore freaks and what's even more important: the exponential increasing attendance from foreign countries to Dutch mega-events like Masters of Hardcore, Dominator and Thunderdome.

Even though the Dutch are the ones that are represented the most on hardcore events, every hardcore addict has seen that Italians, Spanish, German, French, English and even American, Japanese and Brazilian people are going absolutely wild on fast kick-patterns, uplifting Virus-melodies and ecstatic breaks. That's right people: hardcore is spreading all over the world. These guys are not as spoiled as the Dutch with an enourmous amount of events, so they are enthusiastic as f*ck and dedicated like crazy to their favorite music-genre.

This new generation of hardcore freaks seems to prefer some acts more than 'we' do in The Netherlands. Just one example... I have never seen a Dutch hardcore addict doing something like this when he heard his idols were the number one of the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010:

SURPRISES

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010 was the #2 spot for Angerfist - "And Jezus Wept". When we started the MOH Radio Live Top 100, the crew thought that 'Voice' would be #1, "Evil Inside" #2 and "Detonate" #3... But we never expected "And Jezus Wept" to be #2... We will reveal another MOH Radio Live Top 100 secret: if Angerfist and Outblast had not posted a message on Facebook to vote for "The Voice of Mayhem", "And Jezus Wept" would have been the #1! What is the success of this track? Was it the fact that Danny offered it to his fans for free? Was it the fact that it was the first track you came across when you wanted to vote for Angerfist? Or is it just the second most popular track of 2010? The answer to this question is a combination of these three factors. By the way: Angerfist was the most popular artist of the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010, when you look at the amount of tracks that made it to the Top 100: 12 tracks!

Speaking of being incredibly popular, what about Korsakoff?! She released her album "Pink Noise" this year, and was represented eleven times in the MOH Radio Live Top 100! Though a lot of people did not understand the #4 rank for "Pink Noise", I just would like to say that they should take a look at her Facebook page. In my opinion, Lindsay has the most dedicated fans of all hardcore DJ's at the moment. Korsakoff can be compared to big popstars in foreign countries. I will never forget the view when she arrived at Le Captain in May for the release party of her album. Hundreds of Korsakoff fans were waiting outside of the club to catch a glimp of her arrival. The way she was hailed, I have never experienced that in the hardcore scene before. It was like a major superstar like Lady Gaga, Madonna or Justin Timberlake entered the venue... Amazing. And what about her fans singing along her with tracks on all events she played on this year? She is without any doubt one of the most important ambassadors for further expansion of hardcore.

Another surprise was the shocking #55 ranking for "In The Shadows" by Tommyknocker. After he missed the #1 spot in 2009 by just two lousy votes ( "Criminal" lost to "Walking The Line"), Tommyknocker seemed to be shocked that his brilliant track only made it to #55, not to mention the fact that "Scream" ( also an incredible track) did not make it to the Top 100. And he was not the only one, according to tons of tweets, emails and Facebook replies. We can only hope that this will not affect Tommaso's sound, and that he will be among the top competitors for the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2011.

MISSING TRACKS

Also a bit surprising: where were the tracks from TTM-artists, why did the United By Hardness EP not make it to the Top 100 and why was the influence of 'real' industrial and terror acts so f*cking small? Actually, I think they just were not visible enough for the entire scene. Although we saw that several artists are trying to break the boundaries between several styles, it didn't make it to the highest regions of the Top 100, with one exception: Ophidian. I also think that when Promo's "Unafraid" would have been released one month earlier, it had been at least at #30. Unfortunately, the new TTM-sampler was dropped when the voting had already begun.

Another thing that was a little disappointing: we noticed that the new generation was not represented that well this year. Some guys were really close, others were not even near the top 100. 2010 newcomers like Dyprax, Eastside Connection and Satronica got into the Top 100, but guys that we expected didn't make it. Let's hope that 2011 will be a better year for the new breed concerning the MOH Radio Live Top 100. We are always looking forward to hearing from new producers!

#101 AND BELOW

We can not give you the exact number of votes, but believe us: we have torn the record of 2009 apart. It made it the most representative MOH Radio Live Top 100 so far: the amount of votes exceeded our wildest dreams. And to answer another question: no, we are not corresponding about the tracks #101 - #200 or something like that. It is a top 100, and the MOH Radio Live crew thinks we should keep it that way. Otherwise, we would call it the MOH Radio Live Top 200 or something... And that ain't gonna happen ;-) Like Outblast said the day after: "It seems the MOH top100 is becoming an institution!" Not to be cocky, but after four years of checking out which tracks are the most popular, we think it really represents the musical developments of a year.

MOH RADIO LIVE TOP 100 2011

We are aware of the fact that some guys on internet fora are discussing the MOH Radio Live Top 100 each year, but I think that thousands of hardcore addicts are more representative for the hardcore scene than ten up to twenty guys. However, if you have suggestions on how to improve the voting process for the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2011, please contact us at mohradiolive@gmail.com. Due to the immense success of the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010, we can already announce that there will be another edition next year!

Thank you so much for voting, and I hope you enjoyed this analysis of the MOH Radio Live Top 100 2010!

no beh.. innovatori come Promo,Catscan,Ophidian ecc.. dove li metti Raffaele?

moroder in poi.
